Dr. Fozia is currently serving as a post doctorate and an adjunct at the Centre for Water Informatics and Technology (WIT) at LUMS. She finished her DPhil in Engineering science from the university of Oxford in Dec, 2018 in the field of wastewater treatment. Prior to this she did her MS and BS in Environmental sciences from NUST and FJWU respectively. At LUMS she is teaching introduction to environmental science and her post-doctoral research has focused on microplastic pollution quantification and its removal from the environment. She is also working with a waste scavenging community in Lahore on understanding and improving their role in waste management. One of her ongoing projects also focuses on climate smart agriculture and climate technologies in Pakistan.
Dr. Fozia has believes in community engagement and research directed at uplifting communities and building future leaders who understand the science and philosophy of the environment.
She was the president of NUST environment club and took initiatives like, making the campus plastic free and introducing jute bags for use. Together with her friends she has also started a discussion and awareness forum called ‘Meer-e-Karwan’ where she especially emphasises on environmental problems and women rights, amongst other issues.
